On the afternoon of December 10th, Kurishbayev Akhylbek Kazhigulovich, president of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (KATU) visited China Agricultural University (CAU) with his delegation. Sun Qixin, president of China Agricultural University, and Gong Yuanshi, vice president of China Agricultural University met with him. Du Man, director of KATU China-Kazakhstan Science and Education Center, Yang Zengling, professor of College of Engineering, Cao Zhijun, associate professor of College of Animal Science and Technology, and Tang Ying, deputy director of International Office also attended the meeting. During the meeting, President Sun reviewed the progress and achievements made by the cooperation between Northwest A&F University and S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University over the past few years with the help of “Silk road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance”. He said CAU had joined the alliance, and would take efforts to attract more agricultural universities alongside the Belt and Road into it further promote cooperation between member states.
 On behalf of KATU, President Kazhigulovich presented the medal for KATU’s 60th anniversary to his CAU counterpart, and highly commended President Sun’s extraordinary contributions to the collaboration between agricultural universities. Accompanied by Vice President, Gong President Kazhigulovich visited the Animal Science Laboratory and the Feed Museum. During the visit, he showed great interest in the upcoming first-ever “High-Level Forum on Feed Industry Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative”, and expressed his willingness to attend the forum to strengthen the reciprocity and connectivity between both sides in agricultural technology, enterprises and products.
 President Kazhigulovich also paid visits to the Mechanical Engineering Training Center of College of Engineering, the National-Level Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, the Smart Soil-Machine Plant System Laboratory, the Mechatronics Laboratory and the Robot Laboratory. Professor Yang Zengling and Dean Assistant Chen Du accompanied the tour and asked questions. During the visit, President Kazhigulovich heaped praise on the advanced homegrown equipment and the self-developed VR teaching and application system in the College of Engineering. He also expressed his hope for future bilateral cooperation in scientific research, teaching and student exchanges. |
