History of College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) can be traced back to the veterinary medicine courses in Jing Shi Da Xue Tang, which was founded in 1905. CVM was formally born on October 9th, 1949 by merging the Colleges of Agriculture in Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Northern China University into Beijing Agricultural University (BAU).

Currently, CVM is constituted of Department of Basic Veterinary Medicine, Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, and Department of Veterinary Clinic Medicine. CVM owns a series of State Laboratories, National Center, MOA Key Laboratory, Office of Chinese Journal of Veterinary Medicine as well as a veterinary clinic.

CBS has a complementary system for undergraduate, master degree, doctorate degree, and post-doctor cultivations, covering Basic Veterinary Medicine, Biology of Veterinary Medicine, Clinic Veterinary Medicine, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, and Public Health of Veterinary Medicine.
