China Agricultural University Ideology and Political Education College was established at June 2009 (Dangfa [2009] No. 17), a second institution of the university, which is directly led by China Agricultural University, Administrative unit of division level. It was the social scientific department of Humanities and Development college.

Ideology and Political Education College has 30 full-time teachers, including 5 professors, 18 associate professors, 7 lecturers, and among them there are 14 teachers who have doctor degree. College is consists of four departments and one teaching and researching center, they are: the principles of Marxism Department, the Department of Chinese Marxism, ideological and moral education department, Modern History Department and postgraduate teaching and research center.

The college is responsible for the ideological and political theory courses of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctor students, in addition the college opened the 21 distinctive cultural quality education curriculum that students could choose publicly. Moreover, it also has three academic courses and one college elective course of Humanities and Development College. In terms of postgraduate training,  the college has 4 postgraduate authorization, they are basic principles of Marxism, ideological and political education, history of science and technology, education, economics and management, responsible for dozens of postgraduate education and management.

College highlights the importance of ideological and political theory courses, emphasizes on teaching quality construction, “Deng Xiaoping Theory and the ‘Three Represents’ Important Thought of” 2006 was named the college-leveled courses, “Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis” Course was rewarded as Beijing Municipal Courses at 2009. In the fourth “charm Teacher” which was organized by school student organization, 5 teachers 11 people were rewarded.

College pays a lot of attention to the relationship teaching and researching, encouraging teachers to promote their teaching techniques by researching. College teachers have obtained 42 kinds of topics from the National Social Science Fund, Ministry of Education, Beijing Education, published more than a hundred academic articles in CSSCI and other important journals, published more than 40 textbooks. 5 of them obtained scientific efforts above provincial level.

The College was just found and having a lot of tasks. The College will adhere to the scientific concept of development, make the qualified teach as basis, make the academic construction as the faucet, and make scientific research as motivation, fasten the construction and development, intensively relating to the real circumstance of China Agricultural University, continue to work hard, in order to develop our college into a distinctive political education base which has best leveled teaching and researching techniques, and a Marxist theory disciplines and professional training base.
