By the end of 2012, China Agricultural University (CAU) has built collaboration with 207 universities and research centres within 44 countries, including the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norwich, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Russia, Israel, the Republic of Cote d’ivoire and the Republic of Guinea. The number of agreements has account to 357 pieces. By the end of December 2012, CAU has signed 128 agreements with 75 universities and research centres with eight countries in America and Oceania; 135 agreements with 74 universities and research centres with 19 countries in Europe; 89 agreements with 51 universities and research centres with 10 countries in Asia and seven agreements with seven universities and research centres in Africa.

In recent years, CAU has positively built strategic partnerships with high level universities in foreign countries. It firstly formed strategic partnerships with Purdue University and Wageningen University & Research Centres. It also keeps key partnerships with Cornell University, Auburn University, University of Maryland, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, University of California, Davis, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Alberta, The University of Melbourne, Massey University, Saga University and Niigata University. CAU has communicated with those universities frequently on the base of education and research.
